Brisbane police officer charged following alleged stalking
A Brisbane police sergeant has been charged with 12 domestic violence offences including computer hacking and stalking.
On Thursday, police said the 49-year-old male sergeant had been stood down from active duty in the Brisbane region.
Of the 12 charges issued to the officer, 11 related to computer hacking and one to stalking.
The 49-year-old would face the Brisbane Magistrates Court on March 26, and would remain suspended in the interim.
In a statement, police said the charges did not mean the allegations were substantiated.
“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when a member of the QPS faces serious allegations of misconduct,” the statement read.
